​Who’s behind the blog?
Fr. David Asonye Ihenacho is a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara, Mbaise, Imo State Nigeria. By birth he is a native of Ubahi Village in Amumara community, Ezinihitte-Mbaise LGA, Imo State.

After his primary education in St Peter’s [Town] School Amumara and his secondary education in St Mary’s Minor Seminary Umuowa, Orlu, and St Peter Claver Seminary, Okpala, David attended the two campuses of Bigard Memorial Seminary at Ikot Ekpene and Enugu for his philosophical and theological studies respectively. He was ordained a Catholic priest on August 15, 1987, at Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri, Imo State.

For his professional studies David went to Fordham University, New York, for his master’s degree and later to Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he obtained a PhD degree in New Testament Studies.

Fr. Ihenacho is both a theologian and a renowned journalist. His journalism career spans more than 35 years. He was once an assistant editor at The Leader Catholic Newspaper, Assumpta, Owerri, and one of the three founding editors of The Guide Catholic Newspaper, Ahiara Diocese. He has equally served as an editor to some Magazines and books.

As a journalist, David was a part-time columnist with The Nigerian Statesman Newspaper, Owerri; a columnist with The Leader Catholic Newspaper, Owerri, and a columnist of the defunct Horn Messenger Newspaper of Ahiara Diocese. He remains a staff contributor and a part-time columnist of The Guide Catholic Newspaper, Ahiara Diocese.

At different times in his life, David has served as a radio and TV personality. In the late 80s and early 90s he featured prominently in the religious programmes of Imo State Broadcasting Corporation, Owerri.
​
In the USA, Fr David Ihenacho has been serving as a senior columnist with Nigeriaworld.com. There he pens the column: Ihenacho's Home Truths. He has also served as a radio personality with Global Journalists in the USA.
